Our FAQ section has been compiled to present you with the most frequently asked questions with clear, informative answers that will help you hit the road with confidence. Whether you want to learn more about our lesson plans, instructors, or the application process, we are here to support you every step of the way toward your driver’s license
We do not have a waiting list. You can often get in as early as one week to schedule a (trial) driving lesson.
Our classes last 50 minutes
1.5 lessons = 75 minutes
2 lessons = 100 minutes
Arrive on time, your instructor will wait a maximum of 10 minutes for you in case you are late. Unless you let us know in advance that you will be late.
Yes. Our driving lesson packages you can pay in two, three or four installments. Check the rate card for differences and conditions.
We are located in Amsterdam Nieuw-West near the Sloterplas. Our driving area is in Amsterdam West, in the exam area of CBR. That means you can be picked up throughout the exam area, or come to our location yourself for the start of your lesson. Other pick-up locations are negotiable with your instructor.
You are always properly insured during your lessons at Caland Driving School through our occupant or passenger policy. Carefree behind the wheel, in other words.
If you wish to cancel a confirmed class, please do so 2 business days in advance. In this way, your lesson credit will be reversed. Otherwise, your class will be deducted from your balance.
You can authorize our driving school at the CBR with our ID number 4833R8, you can do that

Sign up with us for a trial class. If you like this and want to be guided by us to your driving license, withdraw the CBR authorization from your old driving school as soon as possible. We will help you further with the (emergency) exam applications.
We offer driving lessons seven days a week. Evening and weekend classes are also available, of course, at no extra cost.

- You get behind the wheel yourself right away. If it is the first time, then start on a quiet field.
- This is completely optional, and always with one of our own regular instructors.
- Your lesson will be conducted in Caland Driving School's classroom car.
- Within one class hour, you will get an overview of your path to a successful practical exam.
- Immediately after your trial lesson, your instructor will give you a personalized recommendation with the lesson package that is right for you. Click here for all our lesson plans.
- You will receive the payment link for your trial class by email, please note that your payment is always received by us in advance. Unexpectedly cancel your trial lesson anyway? You can up to 2 business days in advance free of charge do: your trial lesson credit will remain and in consultation with you our Helpdesk will schedule a new appointment. If you cancel / forget the appointment later, this will void your trial lesson credit.

The Health Statement is required before taking your CBR exam, it costs €41.00. You apply for these yourself, you do

For example, if you move and need a new driving school, of course we will help you with this. You can also count on a refund for lessons not taken from your lesson package. Conditions may apply. Please contact our Help Desk in writing in a timely manner for this purpose.
Yes. From your trial lesson to your CBR practical exam, you will ride with the same instructor. Unless you want to try it yourself with someone else on our team.
Absolutely. Driving school Caland is one of the most diverse driving school teams in all of Amsterdam. In both automatic and switch cars, we offer lessons from female instructors. You will also find fully English-speaking instructors with us.
