    Motor traffic participation

    AVD Amsterdam

    After passing the vehicle control (AVB) exam, you will prepare for the 2nd traffic participation (AVD) exam. This involves going out on public roads, usually with another student. The instructor follows on a motorcycle or in a car and keeps in touch via a microphone.

    The lessons have 3 themes :

    • Getting your motorcycle ready to ride, handling and driving off (preparation, technique)
    • Vehicle control (looking technique/braking/following distance/ overtaking/turning)
    • Safety (anticipation and decisive driving)

    Motor Exercises

    THE AVD EXAM

    For your AVD exam, you will usually spend an hour pre-riding. You won’t learn anything new in the hour before your exam, it’s more for getting the feel and getting rid of any nerves. The examiner pays attention to your viewing habits, position on the road and whether you are taking into account other road users.

    • Trip tickets must be ridden in full, no refunds possible. With packages and single lessons, however, this is possible.
    • Payment in installments (two or three) only possible when purchasing packages provided it is not a compact or promotional package.
    • The student must submit his/her own Health Declaration.
    • Driving lessons must be cancelled or rescheduled at least two business days in advance.
